Opposed Blade Damper

You can get your dampers with multiple sections in both width and height required structural supports. Ducts on Demand recommends that large openings be divided with structural members such that dampers will span either the width or height of each opening between the structural members with a single section.

Opposed Blade Damper – A

Series OBD Opposed Blade Dampers are lightweight volume control dampers, designed to be used with HVC grilles and diffusers, not as a stand alone volume control damper. However, Opposed Blade Dampers are not recommended for use in corrosive environments contain due to its steel parts.

OBD-A Standard Construction Options

  • Frame: 3-7/16” x 9/16” x 16-gauge roll formed
  • Blades: 16-gauge roll-formed galvanized steel on 6” centers
  • Bearings: permanently lubricated oilite bronze
  • Axles: 1/2″ diameter plated steel
  • Linkage: commercial grade, brass pivots
  • Linkage to Rod: 1/4″ diameter plated steel or larger
  • Operator Shaft: 6” x 1/2” diameter plated steel

Parallel Blade Damper

Ducts on Demand recommends that you create large openings with structural members such that dampers will span either the width or height of each opening between the structural members with a single section. Therefore, all dampers must be installed with blades running horizontally.

  • Axles: 1/2″ diameter plated steel

  • Linkage to Rod: 1/4″ diameter plated steel or larger

Parallel Blade Damper – A

  • Linkage to Rod: 1/4” diameter plated steel

Our PBD-A series of parallel blade dampers are high-quality balancing and control dampers that are available in a wide variety of finishes, leakage ratings, and materials.

Manual Balancing Damper

You can get the MBD-RD series Manual Balancing Dampers, which is designed and built to provide a cost-effective and reliable damper for reduced volume control only and not for positive shut-off. It is not intended for automatic operation. The Manual Balancing Dampers are also available with locking quadrants.

Standard Construction

  • Blades: Galvanized steel with welded channel reinforcement
  • Bearings: Nylon Bushing
  • Axles: 3/8” square, Aluminum or steel
  • Finish: Mill galvanized
  • Extended Shaft 3/8” square, plated steel 4” beyond frame
  • Maximum Temperature: 200º F

Manual Balancing Damper

Round Manual Balancing Dampers shall be Model MBD-RD by Ducts on Demand. Damper frame shall be roll-formed galvanized steel. Damper blade shall be galvanized steel complete with welded channel reinforcement.
